Directors

David Waters, MBE

David has lived in Kenya for over 30 years having arrived in Kenya as a specialist sports teacher.  An active sportsman, he has served  Kenyan cricket in various capacities including a Board Member of Cricket Kenya and as Chairman of the National Selection Committee.   He was instrumental in setting up junior cricket development programmes and was awarded an MBE in 2009 for ‘services to underprivileged young people and cricket in Kenya’.  

His passion for wildlife, ornithology and photography is highly infectious and has proved invaluable in designing itineraries that combine the best of Kenyan sport with the best of the wildlife and countryside thus ensuring the widest Sporting Safari experience for all our clients.

Harsita Waters

Harsita is David’s 'better half' and a former Kenya Ladies No. 1 squash player. She was Ladies Squash Captain at Parklands Sports Club and later at Nairobi Club, two of the country's leading squash clubs.

For over 20 years she has been professionally involved in the promotion of the Kenyan Arts and Culture scene for which she was awarded the prestigious ‘Chevalier de l’Ordre National de Mérit’ by the French Government in 2003.

She has extensive knowledge of Kenya’s natural and cultural heritage and plays an active role in the organization of the annual Lamu Cultural Festival.

In addition to being a founder member of the charity, Swahili Heritage, she sits on the Board of the Godown, a performing arts centre in Nairobi  as well as undertaking an advisory role in the organization of the Great Rift Valley Earth Festival and the Laikipia Highlands Games, both organized by the renowned author and conservationist, Kuki Gallmann and the Gallmann Memorial Foundation, at her Laikipia Nature Conservancy.

Mike Rogan

Mike was born in Zimbabwe. He moved to Kenya in 2000 as an executive with the African Lakes Corporation – returning to the country he first visited as a rugby playing tourist in 1981. A businessman who has spent 20 years in the IT industry he originally qualified as a journalist with The Herald (Zimbabwe’s national daily newspaper) in 1977 and spent 4 years covering a wide range of sport ending up as the Racing Editor.  

After joining Thomson Publications in 1981 as an Editor of commercial and trade magazines, he then co -founded a start-up public relations company in 1983 – a company that launched The Zimbabwe Cricketer magazine and edited the Rugby Yearbook. His final assignment was covering the 1983 Cricket World Cup before joining C.F.Tulley Associates, his PR company’s largest customer and Zimbabwe’s leading Information Technology company, in the mid 1980’s as the Public Relations Executive. Ultimately appointed Managing Director in the 1990’s, he guided the company through its acquisition by the London based PLC African lakes Corporation in 1999.

Mike has always maintained an interest in sport and has been a rugby and cricket radio broadcaster as well as continuing to write for various publications. He co-founded Sports Tours Africa in Zimbabwe and has played cricket at provincial and first class level as well as being a national cricket selector during Andy Flower’s captaincy. He owns an IT distribution business in Kenya and also works actively as a business consultant.

Abeed Janmohamed

Abeed was born in Kenya and spent his formative years here before finishing his education at Cranleigh School in the UK. He graduated from Oxford Brookes University and played both 1st Class cricket for Oxford Universities and International cricket for Kenya. He is a keen and talented amateur sportsman and plays competitive golf, hockey and rugby in addition to Surrey Premiership cricket. Until recently he was Head of Sales at ESPN EMEA having previously been International Sales Manager at Cricinfo.com. He lives in London with his wife, Alex and their daughter Ella and is the newly appointed Digital Commercial Director for Trinity Mirror Group
