WHEN

WHERE

and WHAT

Day 1

ELSEMERE

As most international flights arrive early in the morning you will be collected by your safari vehicle from the airport and driven the 100 km to Elsemere Conservation Centre, once the home of Joy and George Adamson, for one night amidst the acacia trees on the banks of Lake Naivasha.

This is an ideal way to wind down after the flight and prepare for 5 nights of unsurpassed wildlife viewing.

Day 2 and 3

LAKE NAKURU

An hour’s pre-dawn boat trip on the Lake is an option worth taking. The sun will rise over the Great Rift Valley and Mount Longonot, a 12,000 ft dormant volcano.

After breakfast head for Lion Hill Lodge in Lake Nakuru National Park for the next two nights. The drive should be no more than an hour. Lake Nakuru is home to over 1 million lesser flamingo for most of the year, one of the natural wonders of the world.

It is also one of the best places to find leopard in Kenya (if you are lucky!) as well as lion, rhino, buffalo and a host of other animals and birds.

You must get up before the sun rises as to see Africa awake over the Lake is an unforgettable experience.

Day 4, 5 and 6

MAASAI MARA

After breakfast start your 5 hour journey across the floor of the Great Rift Valley to the most wonderful wildlife refuge on earth, The Masai Mara.

3 nights and days of breathtaking wildlife viewing awaits you. Elephant, lion, cheetah, zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, hyena and many more in the beautiful Mara will provide photographic opportunities to treasure.

Again, you must be up before the sun rises as it is in the early hours (06.00 onwards) that the carnivores are t their most active.

Day 7

NAIROBI

Return to Nairobi via our home for tea en-route from the Mara.

Day 8

TRAIN

Free morning in Nairobi to explore the markets, visit the National Museum, Karen Blixen’s museum, the elephant orphanage, or giraffe manor, before catching the overnight train for Mombasa.

Day 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13

MOMBASA

5 nights of sun, sea and white sand beaches from your beachfront hotel. You can visit the old port in Mombasa and the many wonderful seafood restaurants or just lie in the sun. The final nights dinner is on the world famous Tamarind Dhow.

Day 14

NAIROBI

An early evening flight will bring you back to Nairobi for your final night in Kenya and a farewell dinner at the Carnivore Restaurant.

Day 15

NAIROBI

Depart for UK
